NEMA 4 and 4X Enclosures

Type 4 water tight, dust tight, indoor and outdoor: NewCom's UL Listed NEMA type 4 and 4X enclosures are intended for use indoors or outdoors to protect the enclosed equipment against dust, splashing water, seepage of water, falling or hose-directed water and severe external condensation. They are sleet resistant but not sleet-proof (ice-proof). Type 4X enclosures have the same provisions as Type 4 enclosures with the added requirement of being corrosion resistant.  NEMA 4 enclosures can be made from mild steel as long as they have a painted or powder coated finish.  NEMA 4X enclosures must be made from corrosion resistant material such as aluminum, 304 SS or 316 SS.
